Joy and frustration are sometimes so close in Motorsport. From P10 we made our way up to a podium place but then a refuelling issue dropped us back and out of the points. An incredible drive and good fights didn’t get rewarded.

Today we lost but also won as a TEAM! Still proud of you guys and very happy for the season opener win of the sister car #998 🏆 Great drive by @augusto_farfus , @danharper_ & @max.hesse 👍

Let’s work from there and fight at the next race of GTWCE , the big 24h of Spa! 💪🏼

Our first WEC race in the Hypercar class is done ☑️ For sure we aimed for more and didn’t achieved the results we hoped for. Now we need to learn and improve for next time. It will need some data analysis 💻 but we work as a team and go at Imola again 👍

WHAT WAS THE MOST MEMORABLE MOMENT IN YOUR MOTORSPORT CAREER?

I have several highlights here:

  • The most memorable moment was, of course, becoming the DTM Champion 2014
  • DTM Champion 2016 because it was a confirmation that I had done it again
  • My most emotional victory was certainly winning the home race at the Norisring in 2018
  • Winning the kick-off race of the class-1-era at Hockenheim in 2019 together with BMW and Schaeffler was also a special event

circuit overview

The race circuit was founded as Österreichring and hosted the Austrian Grand Prix for 18 consecutive years, from 1970 to 1987. It was later shortened, rebuilt, and renamed the A1-Ring, and it hosted the Austrian Grand Prix again from 1997 to 2003. When Formula One outgrew the circuit, a plan was drawn up to extend the layout. Parts of the circuit, including the pits and main grandstand, were demolished. Still, construction work was stopped, and the circuit remained unusable for several years before it was purchased by Red Bull's Dietrich Mateschitz and rebuilt. The Red Bull Ring was renamed, and the track was reopened on 15 May 2011.
