The anticipation of the season opener was great, and so is the disillusionment. The second round at Spa did not bring the desired success for BMW and Marco Wittmann either, with the double DTM champion scoring one point at the race in the Ardennes. 10th place – more was not possible.


The wait is over: with Saturday’s race at Spa, the DTM season finally kicked off after the Corona break. But the start into the racing year went anything but smoothly for BMW and Marco Wittmann.

The 2019 DTM season is over. Marco Wittmann has secured third place in the drivers’ standings and now heads for the winter break . A drive-through penalty for the two-time DTM champion meant that he had no chance of recording a top finish in the final race of the year.


Hockenheim remains a happy hunting ground for Marco Wittmann. Having already claimed victory to mark the start of the new DTM turbo era in May, he was able to celebrate another podium finish today. The two-time DTM champion crossed the line in second place.
