After finishing ninth in the first race at the Nürburgring, Marco Wittmann returned to form with a podium finish in the second race – and his third-place result puts him right back in the title fight.


The weather put a dampener on things for Marco Wittmann and his BMW Team RMG during the first part of his home event on the Nürburgring. After reaching second in qualifying, he was only able to record a ninth-place finish in difficult conditions.

DTM champion Marco Wittmann finished runner-up to claim another podium finish in a BMW one-two-three in Zandvoort. After 37 laps of racing, he was joined on the podium by winner Timo Glock and third-placed Maxime Martin, as the three BMW drivers celebrated a successful Saturday with the traditional champagne shower.
