The glass trophy awarded to the DTM champion is far from the only trophy Marco Wittmann received this year. He also had to make space in his display cabinet for the Christophorus – the prestigious piece of Nymphenburg porcelain presented to the ADAC Motor Racer of the Year.
The youngster’s latest accolade came at the BMW Motorsport Season Review in Maisach, at which BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt was on hand to present him with the BMW Sports Trophy award for the DTM Driver of the Year.
The Season Review traditionally allows BMW Motorsport to take an entertaining look back at the previous season in what is always a spectacular show. The year’s top protagonists assembled at the premises of the BMW Driving Experience on the outskirts of Munich to spend an enthralling evening with the BMW Motorsport family – and to honour those drivers and teams who produced the biggest stories and made history in 2014.
