The ADAC SportGala, held at the ADAC headquarters in Munich, saw the automobile club honour the season’s biggest winners. Taking centre stage was the 2014 ADAC Motor Racer of the Year – Marco Wittmann.
DTM champion Wittmann received the big Christophorus trophy, made of Nymphenburg porcelain, from ADAC Sports President Hermann Tomczyk. “Marco Wittmann demonstrated in emphatic fashion that he thoroughly deserved to win the title in the most popular international touring car series,” said Tomczyk. Each year a jury of experts, consisting of representatives of the ADAC and journalists, elects the ADAC Motor Racer of the Year. This time it was Wittmann who triumphed in the night’s most important category. BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt was on hand to say a few words on behalf of the BMW Team RMG driver.
